Is it possible for corals to grow out of live rock?

Yes I've had it a few times this is some that come with my live rock I have others too

What do you mean grow out of live rock? Corals cannot appear out of nowhere, they usually are encrusted on the rock so it looks like they are growing out of it.

Look in centre of screen and you can just about make something out. Below it is some green growth think its a coral or mushroom?

Looks like a little zoa or paly. Easy to keep polyp coral. I'd say its a zoa. But could still be a paly.
