Dead or alive???

I got this tree coral it was about four inches tall on a small piece of rubble but half way up it attached itself to another rock then eventually split in half. Both ends shrank in size and haven't changed in the last two months all my other corals at doing great just can't figure out this one

No matter where I put it in tank nothing changes. I don't know what to do for it

It looks a little like my finger leather. I was thinking the same thing but then I noticed it is bigger during the day than at night.
