Hi, I have a critter in the tank that appears to be some type of snail, but has different charactoristics. Its bottom is completely flat and there is now way for it to retract into its shell like a snail. Its shell comes to a point. Here is a pick the critter is in the white box.

A limpit- Mine eats algea off of the glass but they say they will chomp on coralline. Mine has never made it to the coralline that I have seen. Others here can add a lot more I am sure.

I got a couple of them as hitchhikers and they seem to work on the glass pretty well. I see them on the rocks from time to time and haven't noticed any damage.
Harmless IMO and kinda cool looking. :)

Yep, it's a limpet. I have alot of them and they've never eaten any coralline.

Be wary if you have SPS's. A limpet I had went after hard corals. Never went to the glass though.
