It looks kinda nice actually, but I'm starting to see some dark red and pink "growths" on my LR. Is this good or should I scrape it off? I'm also starting to see little tubies growing from the top of one near the power head where there is a current. What is it?

Without pics, its hard to say. The dark red and pink could be coraline algae or cyano or any other type of macro. The tube things are probably feather dusters, harmless filter feeders. I'm going to move this to the SW ID section.

Is the dark red fuzzy or hard? It's probably coraline algae (GOOD). If it's mat like and lifts off easily then it cyano (BAD). The red could also be red turf algae.

So it looks like this.... I don't have a definitive ID on it, but I'm pretty sure it's a form of red turf alage.
