Slug/snail things

Sorry I don't have a pic, but I was hoping someone could help me out here. I have a bunch of these things that look like slugs and they have little hard shells on thier backs. They are usually on my live rock or the walls of the tank sucking up algae. These things are really staring to tick me off cause I dont know what they are or how to get rid of them. They seem to reproduce like mad. If anyone might know what they are or how to get rid of them I would greatly appreciate it.

Sounds like chitons. And if they are eating algae why would you wanna get rid of em?

I wanna get rid of them cause theres lots of them and im pretty sure one of my snails died from lack of food :? . Plus they are gross and every where. Thanks for the name though, these things have been buggin me for a while.
