Unknown Equiptment

I just got a tank with a box of misc euiptment and I need help identifying two things that came with it. I have attached pics for your identification pleasure.

The two things are not related (that I know of) but they were just the only two things that I couldn't ID.

Came from a 75 gallon SW Oceanic tank.

Not sure what unknown 2 is other than its got a powerhead or motor attached to it.
