What kind of anemone is this?

It came with my liverock....I have two of them and the larger one is almost an inch wide.

looks like anemonia majano, cool name, but an uncool anemone. They are kinda like aiptasia on steroids, should consider remoal Try injecting with white vinegar or lemon juice. There is also a product that is getting rave review for erradication of aiptasia, Joe's Juice.

Yes In most cases they will

What harm could they cause?

Besides overrunning your tank and stinging anything they touch thats about all they do.. The singing of corals and such could cause their death..
