What kind of star?

Anyone have any ideas what this is?
We found it in the 5 gallon just tonight. Sorry the pic is bad. We took it when the tank lights were off. Hopefully we'll get a better pic tomorrow when the lights are on.

thanks!

John

These threads will show you what I found about these stars. Mine have not proved to be troublesome.

Thanks Kevin, that would explain why it's on this rock then if it eats coraline algae being that's the only rock in the tank that has a lot of it on it. Did you end up getting rid of yours or keeping them?

I got rid of the ones I put in the mantis tank, after I lost the mantis, it was made into a betta tank for my son. I never removed anymore from my main tank, but I have seen one or two since and they have not created a problem.

That's cool, it's in a fish only with live rock tank anyway so I don't think it's going to hurt anything. My son is just excited he has a starfish now and being in a 5 gallon it's just the right size :P
