Hi all. I'm building a stand for a 180gallon tank and would like some advice as to if I need a center support. Pics below. Outside frame is 2x8. Inside frame is 2x4. Thoughts?

Front has the single 2x4 for doors that will come later. Back is solid.

Take it from me, I have a 180 gallon aquarium, but in 2009 the stand was not sturdy enough, and over time it bent and made my tank crack one night out of no where, and then flooded my house with water! My old stand was made out of plywood, with a formica counter top.

So what they had to do to secure it was, they used a custom made strudy steel frame on top of the wood base, then they used granite for the counter the tank sites on. It's now been sitting there nice and sturdy for 6 years now!

Jason, upload a pic of that please. and to the OP that looks like I could park a bus on it. as stated previously, it cant hurt to have center braces.

ps.. nice Ryobi Lith-Ion drill, just picked one up and love it
