Does anyone know of a reason why every post in this forum and elsewhere on the net always uses some form of concrete to cover styrofoam backgrounds? I understand sealing the styrofoam to prevent pieces small bits and pieces from floating around the aquarium. Is it a weight issue because there are a multitude of ways to weight backgrounds without covering in concrete?

The concrete is just for realistic look and to cover seams and layers between styrofoam it is a nice touch if you have the patients to do it right. Good luck keep us posted on your outcome
