Floating Plant Island

I read an article about a company that builds man-made islands to house plants to clean up bodies of water. This seems like a great idea for those that don't want to have to constantly water change and don't have planted tanks. Anyone ever attempt anything like this?

Interesting. I'm not sure it would work on the aquarium scale very well, but you could basically accomplish the same thing with a group of floating plants.

I agree you would need a large volume of water flow to be able to us the concept It is basically a filter the filters the water like what we use in the aquarium but just
natural products and if they add the aeration like they say they want to do they turning a part of river into a large tank could grow some nice fish in that but might not fit in the lounge. But on saying that if people did not try stuff like this where would we be today.A natural biological filter for a fish tank. Hmm you could retire if you could get the concept to the right people and it works.

I'd say this thread would be pretty much like and best we can do to implement in aquariums.
