Undergravel Intake

Hey guys! I have a 55 gallon turtle tank. I'm considering changing the filter on it. Right now I have a standard reptofilter in it. It works pretty well but I'd like a little bit stronger solution. My idea was to take the concept of an under gravel filter and modify it. Is it possible to take the frame of an undergravel filter and run it to a sump under the tank?

If it's what I'm thinking, sounds simple. Just take a hose and run it in the riser tube for your pickup, then proceed normally. You may can seal around the tube with a sponge.

If I understand what you are wanting I would think a shower drain would work well, simply drill a hole if theres not one already and bingo.. Sioux Chief 2 in. PVC Shower Drain with Strainer-821-2PPK - The Home Depot

That don't sound right Demon. I understand he wants an UG filter that drains into a sump.
