Curious as to how large scale aquariums deal with filtration

Most of us essentially let our local water supply company deal with the hardcore purification of our water because we rely on PWC. But a large scale aquarium isn't going to be doing PWC with city water so they must have their own water treatment inside the facility. Just curious if anyone knows anything about this procedure.

Make it idiot proof and someone will just make a better idiot.

Go to any aquarium and ask them. I saw how they did it at one of the Rippley's Believe it or Not, in Myrtle Beach, it was very impressive.
Age is relative, you are only as old as you act....of course, this works in reverse....

Questions loved, heeded advice greatly appreciated!
