Aquatek regulator flow meter

The Aquatek regulator in Amazon.com comes in two versions: Basic versus Deluxe. The only difference is that Deluxe has a flow meter which looks useless to me (it does not replace a bubble counter). Is there any reason to get this Deluxe version with flow meter? The flow meter also makes the system taller and a tighter fit in my under-the-tank cabinet.

I just realized that only the deluxe model can control output pressure. The basic model has fixed 30 psi output which can be too low for some ceramic diffusers if you also have a long hose.
