Barbs eating my baby tears

I really want a carpet of something soft and plush for my foreground and everytime I put baby tears in my 55g my odessas eat it. What do you guys think of 4 leaf clover? hair grass? Glososistigma elatinoides (glosso)? And or getting my barbs to stop eating my baby tears?

DHG is supposed to be a relatively easy carpet plant.
