Black hair algea on my plants...

We're going to need to know tons more. What are you tank's specs? Light (NOT WPG), ferts, parameters, CO2, plants, etc. A picture of said algae will probably also help loads.
 
I have a 29 gallon with 2 marineland double brights on top. My plants are 2 swords, some dwarf sag, a parrot feather (I think) and water wisteria, also a piece of hornwort. I use root tabs and the api co2 booster. I have also been putting in sachem florian once a week
 
If it is BBA, Flag fish and Siamese algae eaters have been known to eat it. I know proper c02 levels will stunt its growth. I can't give you advice on c02 and lighting as I'm still learning myself.
