Carpeting plants light?

20 gallon long? High? We need to know how far away the light will be from the substrate. The farther away the light is from the substrate, the stronger it has to be inorder to give the carpeting plants suffecient light. :)
 
6500k will work but extremely slow growth. I would search for some 6700k with more wattage.
 
It's really depends upon how they are mounted/fixed. If you are screwing them into a common aquarium hood that mounts them sideways and has poor reflectors, you will be lucky to hit medium light. If you are using done style reflectors from Home Depot that sit directly on top of the tank, then you will most likely be high light. With highlight comes the need for liquid carbon/ co2 and balanced fertilizers in the form of EI or PPS-Pro. Without these two vital elements, you will have a good amount of algae on your hands very quickly.
 
Yes that's plenty of light, in fact it's probably a bit too much light unless you are going high tech. The good news is that it's easier to reduce light intensity than it is to increase it.

Um I'm thinking of it being a jungle so there is gonna be a lot of plants to help block out light
