So I have some crypt balansae that when planted from where I purchased them melted fairly well, then rebounded like most people have experienced. Question is NOW that they are established in the tank I'm not always happy with where the new ones grow. Can I pull these up and move them to other locations in the same tank (meaning there will be no water parameter/light changes... it will only be their roots moved) with ease or am I going to trigger melt again if I do this?

Thanks for any thoughts.

I've never had issues moving my crypts in the same tank but just be prepared it can happen. I always add a fresh root tab when I move or split and replant any crypts.

As RC said. Can it happen? Absolutely. Will it happen? Hard to say. It would probably depend on the extent of root damage.
