Metricide dosing

I've wondered on this too. I dose in the morning and the fish may get close to a dose of it going in the water (they have woken up to the fact the tapping on the other side doesn't mean anything).

So far no issues with mollies and rosy barbs.

Yeah, the fish don't really care.
 
Unless I am spot treating algae, I usually squirt it into the current generated by the HOB filter so that it gets diluted and distributed at the same time.
I find that inverts don't care for. Planaria will writhe into a pretzel shape if exposed to Excel, Metricide, Glutaraldehyde.
 
Metricide is approximately 2 times as strong as excel. You can check this on the ingredient list of both of them. You can also safely dose metricide at full strength 1ml for every 2 gallons. Just keep experimenting with a dosage until you find the best algae control level.


That seems to have worked for me, 8 ml for a 30 g tank and everything's doing great!
