Just to clarify:

1) You don't trim duckweed. Once it starts overgrowing you can just net it out to thin it.

2) I have duckweed in all but one tank and have no problems with it getting stuck in the filter intake.

3) Fry will use it for cover and will nibble organisims that grow in it.

4) Endlers are guppies, guppies do like green in their diet. So do platys. Both will nibble algae and will nibble duckweed.

You asked if some fish care for fry, I think. Some cichlids will actually suck their fry into their mouth to keep the fry safe. They are called mouth brooders. There are some really cool videos on YouTube of these fish. Also, DizzCat, a member on this site, has some really cool videos of her Bolivian rams protecting the eggs and fry. She even has some great spawning footage.

Awwww thats so cute. Angle fish care for fry and eggs too right? But they dont hold them in their mouth. The fish i called a red zebra. Are they community fish or are they aggresive?
