I just realised, it kinda defeats having bought the juwel rio 400, with such a kick a$$ filter system if i am to go for the walstad method.
I dont really wanna let the filter go to waste?

Maybe go the walsted method half heartedly so i get goo plant growth, and leave the filter do the rest as to avoid root tabs etc... Or am i being silly, amd should i just get some root tabs and be done with it?

Ps... Do i really need the carbon filter in the juwel filter system... Any recommendations guys ?

I don't use Carbon, just more filter floss or other good surfaces for BB. Carbon is ok for removing medications.

You can do capped soil and a filter. ANY substrate will eventually be depleted and need more nutrients for plants.

Might remove the carbon filter once i get it.

Will go root tabs to make things easier for me.
