Do you actually plant banana plants? Or do they just sit on the top... or do you put their tips in the soil to keep them grounded?

I have two in my tank with their tips in the ground, just enough to anchor them

I'm not sure but from what I hear and what I've seen at my lfs, you just leave the plant on top of the substrate and it'll grow roots and anchor itself. I've never have them before so I'm not sure.
