What kind of root tabs do you use?

The spacing will depend on the substrate. I have black diamond blasting sand in my 55g so I need to put the tabs 3 to 4 inches apart. With a planted tank substrate I would say every 6 inches should suffice.

I end up adding new ones every 2 month's or so.

I was replacing them once a month started do it every two week and every thing seems ok.ps and note to self the fox farm the plants liked it but made my ammonia levels go up a little I only put like three on one sword so ill just keep using the osmocote for now thanks everyone for your help.
