My tank has been set up and cycling for 5 days now.. Today I noticed some thing growing on the sand substrate that I can only describe as a jelly like white mold film cover thing.. It sways in the current! I have no idea what it is and if it is harmful =s

Any information would be great!

Thanks!

It's normal itl go away. I usually siphone it out when I do water changes as my 20 is fairly new as well

As long as you are sure.. I don't want it to be some kind of fungi that will kill any fish I add later on.

I have it too. Just showed up today.

I brushed it off with a toothbrush and then sucked it up.

Yeah this happens to new driftwood too. Some fish just eat it other don't pay attention to it looks ugly though so just vacume it out when you can is what I would say

Thanks. I'm glad to know i'm not alone ^_^ hopefully my shrimp I will add will continue to eat it up =)
