I recently bought some " Willow" moss from Aquabid.com. When I received the moss the other day, I couldn't tell what was. In my opinion, it looks an awful like Java moss. I would appreciate any other opinions concerning the mystery moss. By the way, here is a direct link to pictures of Willow moss, which I thought I was purchasing in the first place.

Here is what I received:

The link to "what you got" showed me nothing.

Willow moss is very easily distinguished from Java moss. The little "leaves" are much much larger on willowmoss. 1-2mm long, versus so small you can berely see them on Java.

Most mosses look nearly the same, Willow moss happens to be one that is very distinctive.

update: I saw some moss elsewhere in your photo album... is that the moss you got? That is not Willow moss.... it might be Weeping Moss...which is not the same as Willow Moss. But the names often get confused for obvious reasons.

IMO... honestly, that is a tray of regular old Java moss

It looks like a piece of willow moss in areas but either looks very weak and unhealthy or it is mixed with java moss.
