I went to Walmart today and they had 3 so of course I snagged them up. 1.97 a piece

I think only males get bristles. Females may get a few but not nearly as many. I'm not sure how long it takes for them to grow though.

Nice ! I wanted some and looked for some at petco+petsmart they weren't there. Hope your wal-mart is good and hope they live! I might check out wal mart for some by me!

i hope they live too, they appear to be very healthy, all swiming around and actively eating.

the reason i got them so cheep was because the employee that was scooping them had no idea what they were and said they came in on accident, i told him they were and that they ate algae and he sold me them as algae eaters lol, there lack of knowledge is my gain so idk if they will have them at your walmart?

The male in our 55g tank had little "bumps" around the edge of his "nose" until he was about 3 inches, then they started to grow out (we didn't know for sure he was a male until then).

Females do get the bristles, but they are rather insignificant compared to the male's!
