I got a new betta today. Is it possible that he is just young? He is a rather small crowntail. But all the Crowntails at the Petstore were small today. Sooo are they just little still?

He is gorgeous though!

Sooo I am going to put him in the Q tank for one month before I add him to my real tank. Is adding a 1/4 tsp per gallon a good idea to ward off any infection / calm him?

My petstore had a bunch of new small crowntails today too. Which one did you go to?

Petco. I can honestly say minus the fins my female is about the same size. She is two years old though.

I hope he is ok. He is clamping his fins a lot. I imagine he is just stressed though.

Keep his tank lights off for a day. It will help him not stress.

My lights were off most of the night.

Sooo he is doing a bit better today. But he seems shy. I am going to try and get some pictures or him now. He is still clamping a little too. but there aren't any signs of disease.

Oh, the fin rot? I'm sure it will clear up. Lots of good food, clean water, and some melafix is what I use.
