We have a Condy Anemone that we purchased around a month ago that is not doing very well in our tank. We made the common mistake of purchasing it not fully knowing all the requirements for it.

Over the past few days his tentacles have been either retracted, or bound up, giving the appearance of them being hard and lifeless.

We would like to remove it and take it back to the pet store, but do not want to damage it in the process. He is currently attched to some live rock. Do you have any tips on how we can safely remove him?

thx

try blowing gentle streams of water with a turkey baster or aim a powerhead towards it

I`ve heard taking a credit card and gently scraping at the bottom will do it. Be careful not to tear the foot or he will not make it.

Ice packs at the foot wrapped in baggies , or ideally under the tank by the foot , they get cold and move . Using this method with power heads usually will get them to unfoot.. Taking care not to rip the foot as that usually means doom ....good luck
