Berlin Filtration Method?

Beat advice I could give is to make real sure it doesn't have aptasia on it. It's not rare to find it with those pests attached. It doesn't really matter if you get a little or a lot. It'll grow as long as you have a light over it. Cutting it is simple. Just use normal scissors on it in a small container outside of the tank. You don't want little pieces getting thrown around. It's easier to catch any tiny pieces when it's in a separate container than if it's in the tank or filter.
 
Ok. It took a little while but I made the jump into what I will call the micro...micro in tank sump using chaeto in my protein skimmers bubble diffuser. All it took was $5 and a little guts. See attached photo, I moved the light over so I could take the picture, it sits right over the micro micro I tank sump ;-). I wonder if it will help with nitrates...
