Hello all, I recently purchased a yellow eye tang for my 55 gallon tank. I've read that they should be in a 70 gallon or better, will it be ok in my 55?

IMO, no, typically the issue of tangs of any size is that they are swimmers. Even the smaller Kole tangs need lots of swimming room, and generally need a 6 foot long tank to be happy and healthy.

I would say at LEAST 90g, preferably 6' range.
