Freshwater cycled rock into Saltwater Tank

Is it possible to put freshwater cycled tank rocks into a cycled saltwater tank????

Usually the rocks people use in freshwater aren't the same type used in saltwater.

The bacteria is different between fresh and salt too.

Oops didnt know that!! The homemade freshwater live rock has been in my cycled saltwater tank for about a month now.....my tank cycled in 4 days and all my water parameters are normal.

Four days is an insanely fast cycle. Do you have fish in there yet?

Yea......its been 4 weeks now and alls well.....1 coral beauty....1 clown...4 damsels in a 30 gallon tank

Be careful some types of rock arent suited for saltwater tanks and will eventually leech things out that can cause problems.

You can, it won't harm anything, but don't expect it to play any role in biological filtration for at least 4 months...
