Little less the 20% water changes every week

Clean power head filter (protein skimmer) and collection cup

And clean glass as much as possible

Not too extensive for me trying to keep it simple till I graduate from college! Then I'm going to go crazy and max out a new tank!!

What do you guys recommend for how often to clean your canister filter and also change your media in your filter?

I clean my canister filter once a week with the PWC. I rinse with the old tank water. I replace filter floss as needed but only one at a time.

Every Saturday:

6-8 gallon water change
clean glass
clean canister filter/change filter pads as needed
Vaccuum things that the filter didn't grab
once or twice a week I add plankton for my feather dusters
