Is there any reason I can't (or shouldn't) use a 10W Pondmatser UV in my 220 gal tank? I am considering using one with a 250GPH power head and running it the next few months while I am stocking my tank. My reason is simply that while I am stocking the tank; I have the highest risk of introducing "cooties" and so; maybe zapping things with a UV would be a good idea during this period. ' any thoughts?

10 watt seems awfully low I have a 25 watt on my 90 gal. you should have a 40 watt on a tank that size. Also all the water has to pass through the uv for it to be truly effective. aqua ultraviolet makes excellent uv's
