Sorry about this, Todd. I have had fish jump too in prior tanks.
I hope you can find your pair soon. That will be a cool addition, I have always been interested in Marine pairs, as many saltwater fish seem to not like conspecifics if they are not a pair. It is certainly different from many freshwater species!

I've been looking for a Lyretail Hogfish since I set up my 240g and finally found a store that says they can get one. They ordered two that were to arrive today. Of course, the smaller one did not come, but a large one did (they sent me a pic from the distributer. Too much money, so the quest continues...

Mine jumped also. That's strange haha. But mine seems to be a regular jumper. He had made it out 4 or maybe 5 times?

Todd's 240g Build

No Lyretail Hogs this week, but I got a $110 Harlequin Tusk for $75. This have been another of my "dream fish". Never had one of my own and my heart was jumping when the owner said he'd let it go for so much less than posted at the store. It's in QT now....it's already eating too...

I also got a Rusty Angel. I'm not sure if it will go in my 240 or in my son's 60g. Not eating, so we will see....

$75?? What a great deal. I paid $180 for mine. Mine was kind of large (6") to keep him out of my lion's mouth. He's a great fish. Tons of personality, but a bit skittish at times. Between my puffer and tusk, my shelled inverts don't have a chance. It's a constant replenishing.

Mine is in the 5-6" ballpark. I'm assuming it's not an Aussie, but it has a lot of blue. I was just excited about the price drop and I'm thrilled it's eating.

I still want to find a Lyretail Hog and I think next I will add either two juvie Angels or a pair of Blue Jaw Triggers.

I decided to put the Tusk in after only a week in QT. it was eating great but the Ammonia would not stay zero and the Nitrates were getting higher than I liked too fast.
It went in last night and so far, the Purple Tang is not appreciating the addition.

I guess that the Purple Tang decided that the Tusk was okay. They aren't following each other around, but at least it is not chasing the Tusk around anymore.

My Tusk is quite a sissy. I had to donate my yellow tang back to the LFS because it was picking on my Tusk. (and lion which stung him). They only use those big blue teeth to pick on snails.
