I have noticed over the last month or so after the cycle has completed I have been getting white sponge like growths on all my rock .
What is this caused by ?
Is it good or bad ?

This is just one rock but you will notice the white growths ,
After they get older they turn yellowish and I have noticed a few bright orange .

not sure but interested as I have found these before in my tank

I'm no expert but to me it looks like some kind of fungus. Is it possible you may be over feeding your fish?

I don't have any fish ,
I finished cycling the tank about a month ago and noticed these before .
There seams to be more coming .
Parameters are all good.
I put a skimmer on last weekend .
The skimmate is only brown .

I'm not talking about what ever is all over the tops of the rock .
There is white / yellow ball like growths all over .
Are they considered a problem ?
What did you add for a clean up crew ?

If they look honeycomb like thats what i had. i added assorted snails, cleaner shrimp, blue and red hermit crabs seemed to help me

They don't look like honey combs .

They look like a fuzzy ball .
They start off as small white balls on the rock ,
As the grow they get a little darker .
I noticed one on the back it has long hairs .
