Back in the tank from CO

Hello all. Just got back into having a tank after my ex made a point to take my tank in my divorce (Yep, I loved it hence she wanted it, then left it on the curb after she got it for someone to just pick up!)
Anyway, been 8 years and had wanted to get back into it, just didn't. Finally my daughter got tired of hearing my whining and bought me a 55 gallon tank that had been used. Still in good shape and going to go for a tropical tank as my first endeavor back...
So for now, I am letting my tank work itself up, as its been sitting for a week now "cooking", I am getting ready to do the plunge and fish it!!

Best tips
Never change your filter pads or wash with tap water
Be patient
Quarrantine (QT)
Use Prime water conditioner,
Look into Aqueon or Python water changers or make your own
Research...Check and cross check info and don't just take someones word for it, and
especially with your local fish store (lfs) employees

Yeah that cute little Goldfish turns into a monster!

Listen to reason (like why an Oscar isn't a good fish with community fish for example)
