I don't know that my fish tank is a hobbie, may be more like my fish are pets. Growing up my mother breed fish, so I'm very comfortable having a tank. I have a male Angel, a male Gouromi, female and male Tetra Sharks (that was luck) and a Plecostomus (medium size). Oh, and snails, they came with the plants and drive me nuts how fast they reproduce but they help keep things clean, so I work with it. My tank is now about 3 years old, as is my Angel and Gouromi. They've become great friends. They hang together, my Gouri feels my Angel up and my Angel softly nibbles on my Gouri, not much mind you, it's more like he's showing affection. They only follow me as I pass the tank even though there are 5 of us in the family. I found if I don't mess with the tank too much everyone stays happy.
