Hi Everyone i'm a newbie to the aquarium , I'm currently in the process of setting up a 60 ltr tropical fish tank .
I'ts been set up and running for over a week now (no Fish) , i was advised to fill it with a 50/50 mix of RO water and conditioned tap water.
I don't intend putting any fish in for another week or two.
Will this be ok for a community tank, i'm only going to have some tetra's to start with ?

Welcome to AA!

That sounds like a great start. Check out the FW stickies on cycling. Since you don't yet have fish, you can save yourself a lot of possible future frustration. :)

Thanks all for the reply's .
I'm looking forward to having my new tropical tank running, but i'm determined to try my best and get everthing right before i add some fish.
I keep reading about TETRA SAFE START , is it any good or should i avoid it ?

Would i be better getting a liquid test kit rather than the quick dip strips ?

Sorry for all the questions, but us newbie's have got to start somewhere.

Welcome aboard :)

Just a heads up, new member forum doesn't get a lot of action, more people would see your post if you asked in the Getting Started forums. You get more people answering your questions if you post them there.
