Ok. I'm just going to point out a few things. You can take it as you wish.
Sharks? I think I saw you said you have Bala sharks is this correct? Balas grow large. They require schools of 6 or more of their own kind. For those reasons they belong in a 125g tank.
Plecos. Commons? Sailfin? They can grow to 2 feet long. They also require 125g tanks to allow them enough room to turn around.
African cichlids are nasty! They will kill other fish. They are VERY territorial. They also require higher pH then all your other fish. They belong in a tank all to themselves.
Now the goldfish. 4 fancy goldfish fill a 55g tank. The rule of fancy goldfish stocking is 20g or the first fish and 10g for each after that. So your four need 50g just for them. They are high waste producers are require high filtration of 10x the tanks volume an hour. For a 55g you need a filter that turns over 550g of tank water per hour. Believe it or not fancy goldfish are sensitive creatures. They suffer from swim bladder issues. Moors have sensitive eyes and can be blinded by high ammonia, nitrites and nitrates. They have to have greens included into their diet to help with digestion (and of course nutrition).
Your filter isn't adequate at all. A filter rated for 55g isn't going to filter enough to support all those fish correctly.
What is your water change schedule like? Imo you need to be doing 50% every two days. With the amount of fish you have in there (this is assuming you don't have huge numbers of cories or gouramis) your tank is overstocked by at least 4x it's capacity.
Do you own a test kits? You need to have ammonia at 0, nitrite at 0 and nitrate under 40 but under 20ppm is better.
Dirty water and overcrowding leads to stress. Stress lead to disease. Dirty water and overcrowding leads to stunting. Stunting causes health issues like enlarged fins, eyes and organs, deformed spines and lowered immune systems. I know this. I have rescued goldfish. One is blind and another is suffering from a blood infection. Not very nice.
I'm not picking on you. I'm just letting you know the facts so you can make an informed decision.
Saving those cichlids was a nice gesture.
but unless you could have provided a correct environment for them you shouldn't have taken them in. They would have been better off going back to the fish store.
Scott sorry for the hijack!
