55 Gallon Safe for Main Floor?

Subject pretty much says it all. I just got a 55 gallon tank which I will be putting African cichlids in. What I am wondering is is it safe to put this on the main floor of my house or will it be too much weight? Should I put it in the basement instead?

I have mine in my upstairs bedroom. So unless your house is old it probably will be ok.

I have 2-125 gallon tanks in my living room. No problems. They have been there for several years!!
