algae scrubber?????

I have had my tanks for a couple of years and now seem to be seeing lots of algae. I have cut down my light time but I want to know about the long handled scrubbers. Some of these have steel blades and others have plastic......this is for a glass tank. What would be the best since I cannot reach to the bottom of my 29 gallon tank.
Experienced users please help me.

I have one that had interchangeable heads (both a stainless steel blade and a scotchbrit type of scrubber) the blade actually works faster and better for me on a glass tank. I use the scrubber to get in the corners where I don't want to scrape off the silicone at the joints.
