Balast's longevity question

I've been throuh 2 balasts in 10 months...is this normal?

Its a small balast for a 20(vertical)g set up.

Any info would be helpful.

What type of ballasts? 2 ballasts in 10 months seems very drastic...I have had the same ballasts on my PC's for 3 years and no troubles.. I have seen MH ballasts last well over 5 years without problems... I would go back to the source of purchase or manufacturer for replacement...
