There are different prices on hot5 bulbs, my question is, is there actually any difference in quality, or should a guy just be buying the cheapest ones

There are certainly differences in quality. I can't find the link right now, but I was just reading about the PAR ratings from different bulbs. The poster tested all these bulbs on the same fixture and brands like ATI and Giessman certainly did put out more usable light.
