K I have this sump under my tank it's filled with bio balls in the first chamber and at the bottom Is all this brown crud from which I hear is beneficial bacteria and in the second chamber this crud is in there also and it gets sucked into my pump and gets spit into my tank my rank is always cloudy and dirty looking. Can I suck the crud out of the pump side chamber so it stops getting spit into my tank?

Some maybe beneficial, but not that much, need to get rid of the bio balls and go to a fuge instead

You can run bio balls and they are beneficial. But yes, you can suck this mulm out on a regular basis to keep it clean. It is chocked full of nitrates and other bad stuff you don't want in the tank.

Sounds good to me I'll have to start learning more about a fuge because I'm gonna go to saltwater early next year
