I'm looking for another hose for my 2213 filter, bigals sells the correct item I need for .94 cents a foot. But I'm wondering if lowes sells a similar item that will work for aquariums or Is the hose that came with the filter something special for aquariums?

I'm sure you can find a similar item else where but for the $10 - $20 it's going to cost is it worth the risk? Other hoses may have different chemical compounds could end up toxic to the fish I would think. I had the same dilemma at one point and decided, Eheim is a well known and trusted company amongst aquarists. So I bought at big Als.

I would say just make sure the hose you get is food grade or for potable water. If we can use it to drink from I'm sure fish will be fine.
