Fluval FX5: media - Whats Best? (Fresh water)

So I'm getting a new Fluval FX5, and whats best to use for the media trays (and how much), and also, what media should I have on hand to avoid issues that should arise? (stocking up as a first time buyer.)

220 gallon fresh water tank w small arowana, Clown knife, green severum, clown loaches, Koi angel fish, banjo catfish, red parrot, dragon fish, red tailed shark, and an Osphronemus Gorami

All three of mine are stuffed with Biomax in every tray, and each tray holds around 2 boxes.

and you just rinse them off, or leave them be?

Just rinse, the filter media and sponges never need to be replaced.
