GFI problems

I've had a couple power outages lately, but fortunately I've been home for them.

They tripped my GFI, and it had to be reset manually.

Are thereGFI's that will reset after a while? Is there something wrong with mine that an outage trips it?

GFCI's have to be manually reset, part of their design.

Having one that resets automaticly would defeat the protection they provide. When the outage occurs it might be a result of a power surge or the tripping might be a result of when the power is restored and the power surge that usually results of the return to power. If you put a good quality UPS before the CFI then you might be able to protect the CFI circut from a surge if the surge is a result of the CFI tripping.
