Judge my filter current/setup please.

I'm slowly starting to build my first tank. Got a few questions, would really appreciate the advice:

1. Do you think the current is too strong for a Betta? The spray bar can be repositioned, or removed and fitted with a straight pipe output.

2. Do you think that 40w bulb will be strong enough to grow those new plants heartily?

There's sunlight from a window as well as the bulb beating down on it.

don't know, I'm not going to set-up a Google account just to watch the vid. Can you post more/better pics or link the video through some other site or something.
I will say right off that having natural sunlight going into the tank is asking for major algae issues as you can't really control the amount or photoperiod.

you also don't say how big the tank is, what kind of filtration, what type of light, etc.

the output from the spray bar can be controlled/manipulated to get your desired intensity of current by drilling more holes in the bar and/or putting holes spraying in different directions, IE; spraying across the surface as well as diagonally into the tank and straight down would break up the intensity of the flow and also provide better overall water circulation.

10 gallon Hexagon. In take filter capable of 54 gallons an hour. Filter contains charcoal, Seachem biorox, floss and sponges.

40w fluorescent bulb.

The window is fitted with a blackout curtain (I work nights) so sunlight is semi-adjustable based on my schedule.
