Lighting and have no idea

I think I may have asked something similar on here before but I can't remember, anyway, I have a 15w bulb that came with my Aquael fish tank which does nothing, all the plants I've ever had have died and I've had enough of it lol I want to get a new bulb and understand that I need to get a bulb that is atleast 6500k in order for my plants to survive but have no idea where to start. I've tried looking on the Aquael website for an idea but there are so many to choose from, can anyone help me please?
