Overflow placement

I just added an ATO and the way the flex tubes layout it works better to move the eshopps overflow to hang over the side of the tank instead of off the back. Does anyone else do this or does anyone forsee a problem with doing this? It seems to me that it will work fine as long as I have good flow in the rest of the tank.

Nobody... Any ideas? I have it setup and been running for 24 hours but am trying to avoid a disaster so looking at the experts here

I do know that some people run a 3 sided tank so it's been done. I just havent done it.
